Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, is a craft beer lover’s dream. Seriously! There are new breweries springing up all the time, and they seem to be able to make it, even in a tough economy. The fact that these unique brewers are able to succeed I believe speaks to our community and the people who come to Lancaster County to visit – they seek out “quality”, “uniqueness”, and “character” in the things they buy, eat, visit and stay. Maybe that’s why our historic bed and breakfast is also thriving… but I digress!
St. Boniface Craft Brewing Company (Ephrata): Saint Boniface Craft Brewing Co is a nano-brewery located in Ephrata, Pa. After years of brewing and competing with each other for kudos in their local community, Mike Price and Jon Northup decided to join forces and produce the best beer that they—using their combined brewing experience—could produce. They fill growlers on Thursday from 6pm – 8pm, or Saturdays from 9am-2pm. They are located in Ephrata, at 100 N. State Street, Suite 401. Or you can order their beers on tap at a few local pubs including the Blackhorse Tavern. www.stbonibrewing.com
Union Barrel Works (Stevens): Union Barrel Works Pub and Restaurant brews all their beers on site. All their beers are served unfiltered, for better flavor and nutrition. http://unionbarrelworks.com
